That is all... Comment | Posted by Andy Wilkes | November 4th 2007 Sunday 4th November 2007 Happy Birthday Fraser & Hazel. It's that time of year again where Just after the locals dissapear after 'Trick or Treating' they are back letting off fireworks deep into the night for about 2 weeks around the 5th of November. So our neighbours invited us into their party last night to celebrate a mixture of Halloween and Bonfire Night. So armed with Fireworks, Sparklers and Booze (always a good combination) we went. An assortment of fireworks were presented by all guests, most cheepo's from Tesco and some more 'exotic' ones from unknown sources. After a few games for the kids the fireworks started. Much hilarity was had at the pathetic ones which hardly fizzed or banged, then the exotic ones were brought out. They'd decieded to set them off the other side of the garden wall and the first ones went of, like a massive mortar Barrage in Helmand Province. I was suitably impressed. Then the rockets were going to be next. We got the shouted warnings that they'd been lit. And then a massive explosion and bright Green flash from behind the wall. The firework had exploded on the ground and not in the air. The guys who had lit it were silent. Time for an ambulance I thought. Then a head popped over the wall and said "stupid sod but the rocket in the ground and not in a tube' That's why it blew up then. Much laughter ensued. The rest of the night passed with no more notable instances. Hannah fell asleep, and then we made our way home after a good night.
