Amanda's Weather v Our
Weather
So Amanda, in Australia, e-mails me the following:
"We're only on day 10 of 35-41 degree heat wave and only have to wait
for 1 more week for it to break (so they reckon and even then not sure
how strong the change is going to be). This morning at 5am it got down
to a low of 26!! and they are saying the low tomorrow morning at 5am
will be 28!Happy days. x"
Meanwhile back in the Motherland we are being battered by severe storms
causing havoc all across the Country.

Saskia's Football
Saskia played in goal for Lea Valley FC against
Harvesters FC on Sunday, Just before kick off it rained, then it Hail
stoned, and then it rained again. So everyone was going to get wet and
muddy. Saskia's team took the lead in the first half and led 1-0 at half
time. But in 5 silly second half minutes mid-way through the second half
they scored twice and Lea Valley ended up losing 2-1, But it was a good
game and I got some good pics too.

Roller City
After all the
exploring and dinner I had to take Saskia & Luke to a joint Birthday
Party at Roller City in Welwyn Garden City (Which isn't a City, but a
Town) Ryan came along on the hope of getting a free skate too. It had
started by the time we got there and after leaving my car in the car
park with the alarm blaring because of a faulty catch we went in and
Ryan got himself a pair of skates and off they went. It was dark and
noisy so I was trying to take pictures with very little success, and the
strange looks I was getting from some of the other adults as I took
pictures of various 13 year olds was beginning to concern me too. The
funniest part was a giant screen where you could text messages to your
friends as you went around the arena, there was the usual ' Bobbie lvs
Jack ' and Clarie lvs John 4eva xxx' And even a few 'Jane will u go out
wiv Dave???' messages. The funniest part? Ryan texting the screen with a
message saying ' Ryan Wilkes is fit.x'
lol, bmfl, OMG etc etc etc

Exploring
|
Me and the boys were bored on
Saturday so we decided to go for an explore in the fields and woods
close by. After going through the bushes next to the local leisure
centre and finding 8 or so tennis balls we headed off to where last
summer we'd found and entrance way into what'd be a quality den. As it
is now the end of winter the foliage had not grown back fully so we were
able to explore a lot more than last year. After walking along the dried
up river we came to a concrete culvert under the local road. It was
small enough for the boys to crouch down and walk through but I'd have
to go through on my hands and knees. We could see the other end so I
went up and crossed the road and got down the other side and the boys
walked through the culvert. It was more exciting than it sounds.
Honestly. And it reminded me of the things I used to do when I was the
boys age, before multi channel TV and Playstations. |

Yellow
At school the other week Hannah
was asked to describe her life at home. Her reply was 'I live with my
Mummy and Daddy and Baby Drew and we have a Yellow front door'
We dont (or didn't at the time)
We thought it would be a good idea to go buy some Bright Yellow Paint
and make Hannah's' dream come true.

Alanda
Happy Birthday for the 5th, a
card should be on it's way, but as usual it'll be late. God knows what
I'd do if Mum didn't remind me of all the birthdays. And then sometimes
I forget. I even wrote them all down once. Then I lost that too.
