March 2007 Goodbye
Poppy..
Poppy died this morning at the Vets. I
was told she had to be put to sleep. Apparently she had a tumor on her
stomach and had been biting it and it had become infected, nothing could
be done and it finally beat her this morning. I remember collecting her
when she was just a few months old in early 1995 and I had to bring
her from south London home on a train in a box with air holes cut into it.
She whimpered all the way home and I remember one woman on the train
asking if she could she 'my cat' and was surprised when I lifted the lid
and a small dog was curled up making noises like a cat. She grew up to be
a huge beast of a dog, but very gentle with all the kids. She has these
enormous bat like ears and a lovely cold wet nose, nozz, which we all
liked to kiss and she'd stuff in your ear when you weren't looking. I
never got to say goodbye to her, but I loved her as one of my family.
Although I cried today, Poppy always made me smile, and
it's sunny today, that made me smile. I like to think Poppy made the sun
come out today. Goodbye Pops. X

Taken
a week to get around to this..

Now we all know that
Baz wasted most of his life at sea learning to swim and shower with lots
of other naked men but the one thing he forgot was how to drink to any
sort of excess. He's
tried every trick in the book, from forgetting his wallet to Bar-Bi-Can.
It seem like Hazel missed the alcohol tolerance boat as well. This all
added up to a fun night out in London last week.
It started in Dirty Dicks @ Liverpool Street where we met with family and
friends for a nice social, few beers and all that. After most had thinned
out at closing time we persuaded Erin to take us to a club, although i t
had to be one where any self respected 30 something could mix in. She
suggested Reflex, in Watling Street, near St Paul's. £15 later and we are
there. He ripped us off big time. Paid to get in, and the music is ace,
it's an 80's revival night, lots of A-Ha, Wham, Duran Duran etc. Blimey
it'd take week to write about it all here, but much fun was had by all. I
was minging most of Saturday, Hazel was in bed Most of Saturday, and Erin
managed to do it all again on Saturday, in Newcastle.

Website
Change-around again...
For the last 2 months or so my blog provider has been
telling me that I've been exceeding my bandwidth, and actually took my
blog offline this month, so I could either:
1, Pay a one-off fee, and have extra bandwidth added until the end
of the month when my normal bandwidth would be re-set.
2, Pay a monthly subscription (on top of my web hosting fee) for
greater bandwidth.
3, Bugger options 1 & 2 and redesign my site to look like a
blog, but sadly not have all the functionality of a real blog.
So I've gone for
option 3.
Yes I've lost all
the entries for my old blog, but who cares...
